You invoice a trading name. The insolvency notice names a legal entity. They are not the same record, and nothing in the public registers joins them up for you. That is why a customer can be in administration for a fortnight while your account code still says current.
Send us your debtor list, names only. We will tell you which of them already appear in a published insolvency notice, and which ones resolve to a different legal entity than the one you think you are dealing with.
What comes back:
Every name on your list that matches a published appointment, with the notice and the date
The legal entity and ACN behind each trading name, so your next credit check and PPSR search hit the right identifier
Any of your names that were formerly known as something else, which is where most clean credit checks go wrong
The deadlines already running on anything we find
Names only. No amounts, no contact details, no account numbers. We will never ask you for a card, bank or account number.
That's the whole thing. You get one email back with the entity file. The daily register only comes if you asked for it above.
No call, no demo, no sales process. You send a list, we send an answer. If nothing on it comes back, we will tell you that in one line rather than manufacturing a reason to follow up. We are not selling you a monitoring subscription.
If you supplied goods, this matters twice over. A PPSR search against the wrong grantor identifier can miss the registration you need to find. The PPSR specifies an identifier hierarchy: ARSN, ACN, ARBN, ABN, then name. For an Australian company that will ordinarily mean searching against its ACN. And where section 267 of the Personal Property Securities Act applies to an unperfected security interest, the interest can vest in the company when administration or winding up begins. We'll send you the resolved identifier so you can search the legal entity you actually supplied, not merely the brand on the delivery docket.
Unsecured creditors rank behind the costs of the liquidation, employee wages and superannuation, leave, and retrenchment pay. Each category is paid in full before the next. In ASIC's Report 645, the most recent published figure we can find, 96% of cases had an estimated dividend of less than 11 cents on the dollar. That is 2018–19 data. Knowing whether you are secured, and against which entity, is worth more than being early in an unsecured queue.
If we can't resolve the entity, we'll tell you that plainly and point you to who can. No charge either way.
Want the detail on your own route? Owed money by a company in administration or liquidation? sets out every route: unpaid invoices, goods supplied, wages, leases, deposits and chargebacks. Each one links to its official source.
