You can still book a Moderncar today. Behind the brand sit three legal entities, and two face formal action this year.
Planet 9 Logistics Pty Ltd, which holds the Moderncar rental business names, faces a Federal Court winding-up hearing on 2 October. A separate company that also uses Moderncar branding, Khela Enterprises Pty Ltd, had a controller appointed by an equipment financier on 27 June, six weeks earlier. A third entity, the Khela Family Trust, holds the Moderncar tyre, paint and towing names and shows no distress notice of its own.
