One ASIC register listed Capital Guard AU Pty Ltd, ACN 168 216 742, under Australian financial services licence 498434. Another published its court-liquidation notice.
Same company. Same ACN. Very different Tuesday.
The licence record comes from ASIC's June 2026 AFS-licensee file. It records Capital Guard AU as the licensee and gives 15 August 2017 as the licence start date. The published notice says Robert Michael Kirman and Jacinta Lee Nielsen were appointed liquidators by order of the Supreme Court of New South Wales on 27 July. ASIC published that notice on 28 July.
The ACN also joins two earlier legal names to the company: Condell Financial Pty Ltd and Condell Wealth Advisers Pty Ltd. Search only the name on the liquidation notice and a record held under either Condell name can sit outside the result. Search the ACN and the three names collapse into one counterparty history.
That is the useful part of the finding. A notices-only search catches the liquidation. A licence-only search catches the regulated identity. A name-only search may catch only one chapter. The professional task is to connect all three before deciding what the record means for a client, account, authority or recovery process.
The two records do not establish that Capital Guard held client money, advised any particular person, owed a reader anything, or retained the same licence status after the court order. The June file is a dated source, not a statement about what happened to the licence next. Current authorisation should be checked separately on ASIC's professional registers.
What the public record does support is precise: licence 498434 and the liquidation notice resolve to ACN 168 216 742. Capital Guard AU, Condell Financial and Condell Wealth Advisers are names in the same company history. That is enough to identify the entity that needs checking without pretending the registers answer the commercial question for you.

The register in 60 seconds

ASIC published 117 notices covering 115 entities on 28 July. One notice named five companies, expanding the source material to 121 company rows. 40 are newly published distress entries: a company entering an insolvent process, disclosed that day. The remaining 75 are:
26 winding-up applications, which seek a court order and are not findings of insolvency
31 procedural filings on matters already open: meetings, dividends, proof deadlines and disclaimers
12 companies moving to another stage of an existing process
6 members' voluntary liquidations, which are solvent processes
0 practitioner replacements, in a month where they run at a 21 per cent median
24 of the 40 carry an appointment or resolution date of 28 July itself. The rest were dated earlier and reached the register that day, the longest after 39 days. Every date against a company below is the date on the notice.
Also on the tape
Pixie Restaurant returned for a fifth course: a dividend. Pixie Restaurant Pty Ltd, ACN 650 146 713, appeared five times in 196 days: meeting notices in January, two more publications in June and a dividend notice on 28 July. The fifth carried the operative dates. Proofs of debt were due by 18 August 2026 and the dividend was listed for 25 August 2026. The company's recorded operating name is Pixie Food & Wine. Repetition looked procedural until one notice put money dates on the calendar. Source
The attribution job: one meeting notice, five VIQ companies, unevenly named. A single second-meeting notice covers VIQ Australia Pty Ltd, VIQ Pty Ltd, VIQ Solutions Pty Limited, VIQ Australia Services Pty Ltd and VIQ Solutions Australia Pty Ltd, with Robert Bruce Smith and Keith Alexander Crawford appointed across all five. The former names do not travel with the practitioners: B2G Legal and VoiceIQ Australia attach to VIQ Australia Pty Ltd alone, the Spark & Cannon names belong to the two Solutions companies, and two of the five carry no other names at all. Load the filing flat and every company inherits identities the notice never gave it. Keep each name under its own company before matching. Source

Hearing dates and obligations are recorded as part of the historical register, not presented as current deadline advice.
An application asks a court to order a winding up. The application itself is not a liquidation appointment or finding.

Bottom line
Capital Guard AU Pty Ltd appeared in ASIC's June AFS-licensee file under licence 498434, then in a court-liquidation notice published on 28 July. The reliable join is ACN 168 216 742, which also reconnects Condell Financial Pty Ltd and Condell Wealth Advisers Pty Ltd. The practical response is to match all three names, route the result to the appropriate risk or legal process, and verify the licence's current status separately. The records identify the company to check. They do not establish a debt, client relationship or present authorisation.
