ASIC does not publish company stories. It publishes episodes.
Wallaroo Shores Resort Management got four of them in 48 days.
4 June: a creditor commenced a winding-up application. ASIC published it on 16 June.
15 July: administrators were appointed. ASIC published that on 16 July.
17 July: a first-meeting notice appeared.
22 July: the court wound the company up. ASIC published the order on 23 July.
One company. Four notices. Three changes in legal position. Anyone reading a single day saw, at best, one quarter of the file.
That would be an interesting exception. It was not an exception.
ASIC published 58 newly published distress entries on 23 July. Twenty-one had appeared on the register before. Every one had previously been the subject of a winding-up application.
There are two clocks in those files.
From the application's publication to the appointment's publication, the median gap was 20 days. That is the lead time a person monitoring the public register could actually observe.
From the dated application event to the dated appointment event, the median was 43 days. That measures how long the underlying process had been moving, including the period before ASIC published the application.
The distinction matters. One number measures the warning available to a reader. The other measures the case's progression. Mixing them makes the register look either faster or slower than it was.
This does not prove that winding-up applications generally end in an appointment. That requires following every application to its eventual outcome. It proves something narrower and immediately useful: for twenty-one companies appearing on 23 July, the register had already published a distress signal weeks earlier.
The five examples below are the receipts.

The register in 60 seconds
ASIC published 125 notices covering 127 entities. 58 are newly published distress entries: a company entering an insolvent process, disclosed today. The remaining 69 are:
23 winding-up applications, which ask a court for an order and are not findings of insolvency
31 procedural filings on cases already open: meetings, dividends, proof deadlines and disclaimers
7 companies already inside a process that moved stage, such as an administration converting to liquidation
8 members' voluntary liquidations, which are solvent and not failures at all
0 vacancies filled, where the process continues with a new practitioner
A single count of the day's filings would report 127 entities where the register supports 58 newly published distress entries.
The register prints applications and appointments in the same voice. The chronology is what changes the meaning.

The watchlist job: Tropical Monkey entered liquidation under six other names. Burger Burger, CraveCrisp Wings, Soul Good and Smash’d Wagyu Burger Co are among the identities tied to ACN 168 804 322. A search under the restaurant brand alone may not meet the legal name printed on the appointment. Source
The attribution job: one Rent4Keeps filing named five companies, but its names were not shared. Three alternate names attach to Rent4Keeps (Aust) Pty Ltd, while two of the five entities carry none in the notice. Copy every filing-level name onto every company row and the form invents associations it never made. Source

Bottom line
The twenty-one are the argument for reading winding-up applications rather than filtering them out. An application is not a finding of insolvency and does not establish that any reader has exposure. It is a dated, named, public signal, and here it preceded the appointment by a median of 43 days on the notice dates.
Search both the legal and resolved trading names above. Twenty-eight of the day's entities carry a name that differs from the legal name by more than case, punctuation or a corporate suffix.
Every notice referenced here is on the public register at publishednotices.asic.gov.au.
