On 20 August, ASIC published a court winding-up order against A.C.N. 657 364 111 Pty Ltd. The notice carries its former name: Drink West Brewery Pty Ltd.

The notice tells you a renamed company was wound up. It does not tell you where that company sat inside Drink West.

Drink West's own 2022 crowd-funding document does. It described a two-company structure. Drink West Pty Ltd, ACN 636 007 746, held the brand and the intellectual property. Its then wholly owned subsidiary, ACN 657 364 111, was established to own and operate the brewery, including the brewing equipment, raw materials and stock.

The company wound up on 18 August is the second one. Trevor Pogroske and Anthony Warner of CRS Insolvency Services Australia were appointed joint liquidators.

There is a search problem sitting inside that. The company no longer carries the words "Drink West" in its legal name at all. It is now named for its own ACN, so a search or monitoring rule keyed only to the Drink West name can miss the legal entity now appearing in the notice. The former name is the thread back to the business.

The 5 May 2022 offer through Birchal raised $1.919 million from 1,120 investors. The shares offered were ordinary shares in Drink West Pty Ltd at $1 each, not shares in the brewery company.

That distinction matters for reading the rest of it. The document presented the business to investors as a two-company structure and explained that the separate brewery subsidiary owned and operated the physical brewery. The entity that took the investment and the entity that held the brewing assets were not the same company.

ASIC's industry coding independently points the same way. It records ACN 657 364 111 under Beverage and Tobacco Product Manufacturing, in New South Wales, postcode 2750.

16 February 2022. ACN 657 364 111 is registered.

5 May 2022. The crowd-funding offer opens through Drink West Pty Ltd, describing the brewery subsidiary as the company that owns and operates the brewery.

24 April 2026. A receiver is appointed to the brewery company. Domenico Alessandro Calabretta is named. ASIC publishes this in its insolvency statistics on 11 August.

10 July 2026. A winding-up application against the brewery company is commenced by Manufactor Pty Ltd in the Federal Court, proceeding NSD1258/2026.

17 August 2026. ASIC publishes the application, listing the hearing for 9:30AM on 18 August. The application became public one day before the listed hearing.

18 August 2026. The court makes the winding-up order.

20 August 2026. ASIC publishes the order.

Two things follow from that order of events. The winding-up order is not the start of this company's distress; a receiver had been in place for close to four months. And the company had already reached the register on 17 August as a winding-up application. Three days later, the order appeared.

The 2022 document establishes the ownership structure as it stood in 2022. The notices reviewed do not establish whether the shareholding changed in the four years before the liquidation, and none of this describes who owns either company now.

The offer was an offer of shares in Drink West Pty Ltd. The notices reviewed do not establish what the brewery company's liquidation means for the people who took it up.

Drink West Pty Ltd, the brand and IP company, carries no insolvency notice in any of the 539 register days captured since January 2025. That supports an absence of notices in those days and nothing further. It is not evidence about that company's financial position.

Drink West's website continues to advertise the Penrith brewery and lists opening hours. The notices reviewed do not establish who is currently operating that venue.

The register carried 13 winding-up applications, and the Deputy Commissioner of Taxation brought eight of them, across two spellings and four courts. The remaining five came from a workers compensation insurer, a construction company, an events business, a fines administrator and an individual.

Nine of the thirteen are listed for hearing between 26 August and 1 September.

LOTUS FOLDING WALLS AND DOORS PTY LTD, ACN 007 087 523, entered voluntary administration on 20 August, with Innis Cull and David Coyne of BRI Ferrier appointed. The directors made the appointment under section 436A.

The company was registered on 13 October 1988 and has carried two earlier names, GRIFFIN CRAFT PTY. LTD. and LOTUS FOLDING DOORS PTY. LTD. Its current trading name is Concertina Doors Online.

The first meeting of creditors is listed for 10.00AM on 31 August, to be held virtually, with proofs and proxies due by 4.00PM on 28 August.

The register carried 57 newly published distress entries. Companies whose legal name does not identify the business are listed first.
