Two companies carrying the Guardian name entered voluntary administration on 12 October: Healthserv Pty Limited, ACN 105 197 582, which trades as Guardian Health Support Services, and Guardian Property Services Pty Ltd, ACN 003 072 213, a company registered in 1986.

A third company, D & P Flowers Pty Ltd, ACN 149 269 232, appointed the same administrators the same day.

If your contract, invoice or payslip says Guardian, the company you dealt with could be either of the first two, or neither: a trust has also bid for council work as Guardian Property Services. The ABN on the document decides which.

Healthserv is the named supplier on a NSW Rural Fire Service agreement for housekeeping and cleaning at its State Training Academy, published on 29 June 2026 with an estimated $4,707,231.10 payable, including GST, over a term to 28 June 2031.

That figure is an estimate across five years, not money paid to Healthserv or a loss to the Rural Fire Service, and the notice does not show whether the agreement continues after the appointment.

Is Guardian Property Services in administration? Yes. Guardian Property Services Pty Ltd, Healthserv Pty Limited and D & P Flowers Pty Ltd each appointed administrators on 12 October. Bradd William Morelli and Stewart William Free of Jirsch Sutherland were appointed to all three.

Voluntary administration is not liquidation: the administrators take control while they assess each company and report to its creditors. Under the Corporations Act, the administrators must then call a second meeting, ordinarily within about five weeks of their appointment, at which creditors decide whether each company executes a deed of company arrangement, returns to its directors or is wound up.

All three companies' first creditors' meetings are on 22 October and held online: Guardian Property Services at 10am, Healthserv at 11am and D & P Flowers at 12pm, Sydney time.

The NSW Rural Fire Service agreement names Healthserv for housekeeping and cleaning at its State Training Academy from June 2026 to June 2031, with an estimated value of $4,707,231.10 including GST.

An estimate, not money paid or a loss. The notice does not show whether the agreement continues.

Request for quote

The supplier ABN and ACN in the procurement notice match Healthserv Pty Limited, the company now in administration. As of 14 October, the notice listed no amendments.

The Rural Fire Service bought the service through a request for quote. Its record lists the ten criteria used to assess offers, including organisational capacity, financial capacity, price and risk management, and classes Healthserv as a small to medium enterprise based in New South Wales.

The Guardian name has a long history at this company. Healthserv first held Guardian Health Support Services as a business name from July 2003 to October 2009, and has held it again since October 2014.

Whether the agreement continues, is varied or passes to another supplier depends on the agreement itself and on decisions the administrators and the Rural Fire Service have yet to make public.

ASIC published a separate notice for each company. Each names the same two administrators and the same meeting day.

The register does not record an ownership relationship between them. Healthserv and D & P Flowers share the Gladesville postcode, 2111.

The trust that also trades as Guardian Property Services

Guardian tenders have also been lodged under a different identity.

Cumberland City Council's record of tenders opened on 5 October 2023 lists the bidder as "Cultana Unit Trust T/A Guardian Property Services", ABN 88 203 232 389.

The Australian Business Register record for that trust lists "Guardian Property Services" as a trading name from 2005, and before that "Guardian Property Services Pty Ltd", the exact name of the company now in administration.

No ABN for Guardian Property Services Pty Ltd appears on the Australian Business Register. That does not itself identify the trustee or prove a trustee relationship.

The public registers do not name the trust's trustee, so it cannot yet be said whether contracts signed under the trust's ABN sit with the company in administration.

The Rural Fire Service contract is different: its identifiers match Healthserv directly.

Three separate records behind the Guardian name: Guardian Property Services, Healthserv trading as Guardian Health Support Services, and the Cultana Unit Trust.

Separate entities. The public registers name no trustee for the trust and no ownership link.

Who needs to know which company

  • Customers with a Guardian cleaning contract need the ABN on it: Healthserv's is 58 105 197 582; the Cultana trust's is 88 203 232 389.

  • Suppliers and subcontractors need the company named on their purchase orders before lodging a claim with the administrators.

  • Employees need their employing entity, which their payslips record.

  • Councils and agencies holding Guardian-branded contracts need to know whether the contracting party is Healthserv, the trustee of the Cultana Unit Trust or another company.

What remains unresolved

  • Whether the RFS academy contract continues, and with whom.

  • Which company is the trustee of the Cultana Unit Trust.

  • What D & P Flowers does, and how it relates to the other two companies.

  • Why the three companies entered administration.

The administrators' report to creditors is where those answers start. Until then, the ABN on a Guardian document is the quickest way to tell which company, if any, is in administration.
