On 19 October 2026, the ASX-listed lender Finexia Financial Group told the market that its subsidiary, Shared Beginnings Pty Ltd, had been placed into voluntary administration, the process where an outside administrator takes control of a company and works out its future. Finexia said the company "owns and operates seven early learning centres": Sinnamon Park and Kenmore in Queensland, Reservoir, Mont Albert and Beaumaris in Victoria, and Bonython and Conder in the ACT.
The same day, a second company went into administration with the same two administrators: Shared Beginnings AP Pty Ltd, ACN 681 052 951. Its ASIC notice lists fifteen Shared Beginnings centre names. ASIC notice
Seven of those names are in Sydney. None of Finexia's seven centres are in New South Wales.
So if you supply, lease premises to or are owed money by a Shared Beginnings centre, Finexia's list is not the whole answer. Shared Beginnings AP currently holds the registered business names for the fifteen centres on its notice, and it is in administration too.

Two companies, one name
The two companies are easy to confuse. They are separate legal entities with separate ACNs.
Shared Beginnings Pty Ltd, ACN 686 827 654, is the company Finexia calls its subsidiary. Its administration notice describes it as "formerly trading as" six centre names. ASIC notice
The Australian Business Register explains the word "formerly". Shared Beginnings Pty Ltd registered centre business names from November 2025, and every one of them ended between 10 and 21 March 2026.
Shared Beginnings AP Pty Ltd registered the same kind of names from late January 2026 and still holds them. Its notice lists them all:
Queensland: Sinnamon Park, Kenmore
Victoria: Ashwood, Beaumaris, Mont Albert, Reservoir
ACT: Bonython, Conder
New South Wales: Austral, Bradbury, Forestville, Kirrawee, Paddington, Pyrmont, West Pennant Hills
It also trades as Ashburton Early Learning.
Both companies appointed the administrators themselves, Bill Karageozis and Nikita (Nick) Keramos of DVT McLeods, under section 436A of the Corporations Act.

The eight names Finexia did not list
All seven of Finexia's centres are on Shared Beginnings AP's list. Eight more names are not on Finexia's:
Austral, Bradbury, Forestville, Kirrawee and West Pennant Hills, in Sydney
Paddington and Pyrmont, also in Sydney
Ashwood, in Melbourne
Finexia's announcement was about its subsidiary. It does not mention Shared Beginnings AP at all.
The Shared Beginnings website agrees with Finexia. Its centre finder lists the same seven centres, with filters for Victoria, Queensland and the ACT only. The other eight names appear on Shared Beginnings AP's notice and on the business names register, but not on the website.
Paddington and Pyrmont sit on both notices. Shared Beginnings Pty Ltd used those names from November 2025 to March 2026. Shared Beginnings AP has held them since February 2026.

Five Sydney names from one week in July
Shared Beginnings AP registered five of its Sydney names between 14 and 16 July 2026: Forestville and Kirrawee on 14 July, Austral and Bradbury on 15 July, and West Pennant Hills on 16 July.
Those are five of the seven suburbs in the business names of another childcare operator. The Trustee for Orchard ELC Unit Trust holds "Orchard Early Learning Centre" names for Austral, Bradbury, Forestville, Kirrawee, West Pennant Hills, Ryde and St Ives. All seven are still registered.
The Orchard company went through receivership, administration and liquidation in 2026. Receivers were appointed to Orchard Early Learning Centres Pty Ltd, ACN 606 754 063, on 27 February. Its board appointed an administrator on 11 March, and creditors moved it into liquidation on 24 April. ASIC notice
Finexia explained the connection in a September investor update. Orchard Early Learning was one of its borrowers, with total credit exposure of about A$24 million. After the receivers were appointed, Finexia said, Shared Beginnings Pty Ltd took operational control of Orchard's childcare businesses, and a proposed sale agreement would give Finexia ownership of six childcare assets in return for a partial debt release.
The dates fit that account: Shared Beginnings AP registered the five names in July, after the Orchard receivership. But the Shared Beginnings website lists none of the five, and the Orchard names are still registered. Whether those five centres now trade as Shared Beginnings, as Orchard or not at all is a question for the administrators.
Shared Beginnings AP is older than Finexia's rescue. It was registered on 25 September 2024 as Ashwood Early Learning Pty Ltd and took its current name on 26 August 2025.
Its first business name, Ashburton Early Learning, dates from December 2024. That is the tenant CBRE named when it marketed a new childcare centre at 465–467 Warrigal Road, Ashwood, in July 2025: a 15-year lease at A$442,000 a year plus GST, with options to 2060. The property sold in September 2025 to a Cambodian-based investor.
Who owns Shared Beginnings AP is not stated in Finexia's announcement or in the company's public registrations.
Who to claim against
Start with the company name on your contract, invoice or lease, not the sign at the centre.
Shared Beginnings AP Pty Ltd, ACN 681 052 951: the company to which all fifteen centre business names in its notice are currently registered.
Shared Beginnings Pty Ltd, ACN 686 827 654: the company Finexia calls its subsidiary, which used six of those names until March 2026.
Both companies are in administration under the same administrators, but a claim belongs to the company you actually dealt with. If your paperwork names a centre from the July group, check whether it names a Shared Beginnings company or an Orchard one. Orchard Early Learning Centres Pty Ltd is in liquidation with a different liquidator.
For landlords, the tenant on the lease decides which administration matters. The Ashwood centre shows why that can differ from the brand on the building: its 2025 lease was marketed with Ashburton Early Learning as the tenant.
What is still unknown
The administrators have not yet reported. Until they do, four questions stay open: which of the fifteen named centres are trading, which company employs the staff at each one, who owns Shared Beginnings AP, and which company holds each lease.

The Weekly Brief resolves the legal company behind each brand, connects records held in separate public registers and explains what each week's filings reveal.
We publish public-record information, not advice. The administrators are the authoritative source on both administrations, and nothing here is a statement about the solvency of Finexia Financial Group or any other company, or about any party's claim.
