ASIC published one appointment notice on 21 August covering five companies and the same three administrators, Mark Holland, Melissa Smith and Anthony Norman Connelly of McGrathNicol. ASIC lists it under Global Food & Wine Holdings Pty Ltd, ACN 128 888 602. All five entered voluntary administration on 18 August, each on a resolution of its own directors.

Three of those companies carry Global Food & Wine in their legal names.

A fourth only carries the name in its history.

The fifth is GHO Pty Ltd.

The point is that the name on an insolvency notice is not always the name a business is known by. A name-based search of the day's 107 entities identifies three of them directly. The appointment notice covers five.

For anyone checking credit exposure, reviewing a counterparty or looking at a portfolio holding, that gap is not academic. The entity named on the notice may not be the entity they would recognise.

The notice establishes when the five companies entered administration and who was appointed. It does not explain how any of them relates to any other.

Every name below is on ASIC's own record. None of it is inferred.

The mismatch is not happening on a small obscure company. The ATO's corporate-transparency data records Global Food & Wine Holdings with total income of $211.8 million in 2021-22 and $172.5 million in 2022-23, matched to the company by its ABN, which contains the same ACN the notice names.

Total income is the ATO's reported field. It is not revenue, it is not profit, and both figures describe years that ended well before this appointment.

The group's own current website describes a family business dating to a Brisbane warehouse in 1957, supplying more than 4,000 customers with over 10,000 products from warehouses across Queensland, with more than 100 delivery vehicles. Its careers page states approximately 310 employees. Those are the company's own published descriptions of itself.

GHO Pty Ltd was registered on 25 June 2015, five months after Global Food & Wine Pty Ltd. ASIC's register records no former name for it.

It appears on the same appointment notice, with the same date and the same administrators. That places it on that notice, and nothing further. It does not establish that GHO owns, or is owned by, any of the other four.

1986 to 2018. The five companies are registered across three decades. Global Food & Wine (QLD) comes first in November 1986, then named Efstar Pty. Ltd. Holdings follows in December 2007. Global Food & Wine Pty Ltd is registered in January 2015 as Global Food & Wine (Brisbane West) Pty Ltd, GHO five months later in June, and Globello in September 2018 as Global Food & Wine (Northgate) Pty Ltd.

18 August 2026. All five companies enter voluntary administration under section 436A.

21 August 2026. ASIC publishes the appointment on one notice.

28 August 2026. The first meeting of creditors is listed for 09:30AM by teleconference, with proofs and proxies due by 2:00PM on 27 August.

None of the five has a recorded external administration or controller appointment in ASIC's detailed appointment data between 1 July 2017 and 26 July 2026. ASIC's records before July 2017 are aggregate and carry no company identifier, so the statement starts there.

The single notice establishes when the five companies entered administration and who was appointed. It does not establish that any of the five owns, or is owned by, any other. The corporate structure is not on the notice.

The 2021-22 and 2022-23 income figures describe those years. The notices reviewed do not establish the group's financial position in the period before the appointment.

The notices reviewed do not address trading status, employee outcomes or creditor exposure. An administration is not a liquidation, and the first meeting has not yet been held.

A winding-up application asks a court for an order; it does not mean a company has been wound up. A members' voluntary liquidation is ordinarily a solvent process.

The register carried 14 winding-up applications, and the Deputy Commissioner of Taxation brought six of them, all in the Federal Court and all but one in Victoria. The remaining eight came from a cold-transport business, an energy retailer, a concrete supplier, a staffing company, a superannuation trustee, two other companies and an individual.

CRONE PARTNERS PTY LTD, ACN 095 989 272, entered voluntary administration on 19 August, with Glenn Livingstone and Benjamin Ho appointed.

The company trades under Crone Architects, Crone Advisory, Crone Partners Architecture Studios and Crone Partners Interiors Studio. It has carried three earlier names: CRONE ASSOCIATES (MELB) PTY LTD, CRONE NATION ARCHITECTS PTY LTD and CRONE NATION PTY LTD.

The legal name is the one a court or a creditor uses. None of the four trading names is it.

The register carried 49 newly published distress entries. Companies whose legal name does not identify the business are listed first.
