Family Farm Management Pty Ltd is in voluntary administration.

ASIC published the appointment on 17 August. Bradd William Morelli and Emma Marie Mos of Jirsch Sutherland were appointed on 14 August, under section 436A, by the company itself. The notice names it FAMILY FARM MANAGEMENT PTY LTD FORMERLY KNOWN AS NULYFE PTY LTD, ACN 607 879 050.

What the company owns

In June the Federal Court set out the arrangement in a judgment on an interlocutory application. According to that judgment, an arrangement known as Mt Lion Farm "attracted over 125 investors who contributed more than $6 million".

Investors' funds were paid to an online platform known as Bricklet, which in turn paid funds to Family Farm Management. On 23 December 2022 the company used those funds to buy farmland at Lynchs Creek in northern New South Wales.

The Bricklet platform maintains what the judgment calls an Australian Property Co-Ownership Register, a private property register. It records each investor as holding one or more "Bricklets", said to represent a 1/140th fractional interest in Mt Lion Farm.

The judgment then says something a creditor or an investor would want to read twice:

The APCOR Register does not have any formal status in recording title to land.

And separately: Family Farm Management is the registered owner of the farmland.

So the company that entered administration on 14 August is the company on the title.

What is contested, and by whom

Ten of those investors have sued. The judgment records that they "claim that they have invested just under $600,000 in Mt Lion Farm".

Their case alleges that Mt Lion Farm was an unregistered managed investment scheme that was required to be registered, and they seek orders winding up the arrangement, and alternatively the company. They also seek to relinquish their Bricklets and recover what they invested by way of restitution.

Family Farm Management disputes that characterisation. It also denies the allegation that it is insolvent, and denies the plaintiffs' figure of just under $50,000 a month in losses.

Those substantive allegations have not been decided. The June judgment determined two applications and no more: the company applied for summary judgment on the basis that the investors lacked standing, and that application was dismissed; the investors applied to amend their case to add a just and equitable winding up of the company, and that application was allowed.

The court did not find that Mt Lion Farm is an unregistered managed investment scheme. It did not find that the company is insolvent. The administration is not a court finding of insolvency; under section 436A, a company may appoint an administrator where its board thinks the company is insolvent or likely to become insolvent.

The sequence, in the order it happened

A winding-up application against the company was commenced on 10 July 2025 by A K Ippolito Investments Pty Limited and others, in the Federal Court in Queensland, action number QUD 448 of 2025. ASIC published it on 1 July 2026, almost a year after it began. The notice lists the application for hearing on 13 September 2027. The debt relied upon is not identified in the published notice.

The summary judgment application was heard on 11 June and decided on 19 June 2026.

Administrators were appointed on 14 August, and the appointment was published on 17 August.

That appointment matters for what happens next. The Federal Court proceeding was on foot when Family Farm Management entered administration. Under section 440D of the Corporations Act, while a company is under administration a proceeding against it generally cannot be begun or continued except with the administrator's written consent or with the leave of the court. The next procedural step in that proceeding is not yet clear.

What remains unresolved

The Federal Court has not determined whether Mt Lion Farm was an unregistered managed investment scheme. Family Farm Management has denied that characterisation, denied that it was insolvent in the proceeding, and disputed the plaintiffs' estimate of monthly losses.

What happens to the proceeding, the farmland and the investors' claimed interests now remains unresolved.

Bottom line

Family Farm Management, the registered owner of farmland purchased with more than $6 million contributed by more than 125 investors, entered voluntary administration on 14 August.

Those investors' fractional interests are recorded on a private APCOR register. The Federal Court has said that register has no formal status in recording title to land.

Ten investors are separately pursuing Federal Court proceedings concerning the arrangement. The substantive allegations in that case have not yet been decided.

The Daily Register, 17 August 2026

The register in 60 seconds

ASIC published notices concerning 125 entities on 17 August:

  • 43 newly published distress entries

  • 34 winding-up applications

  • 24 procedural filings on open matters

  • 14 existing matters that moved stage

  • 10 members' voluntary liquidations

A winding-up application asks a court for an order; it does not mean a company has been wound up. A members' voluntary liquidation is ordinarily a solvent process.

All 125 are resolved to their legal names and, where recorded, former and trading names, with ACNs and process details. Winding-up applications include the applicant, court and hearing date. See the full 17 August register, free with a subscription.

Also in the register

On 14 August we named four Yuki companies with no insolvency notice. On 17 August one of them entered administration.

The 14 August issue reported five companies carrying the Yuki naming entering creditors' voluntary liquidation, and named four more that carried the same naming, were recorded as registered, and had no insolvency notice published against them. Their ACNs were printed so readers could tell them apart.

One of those four is Yuki House (MC) Pty Ltd, ACN 646 054 775. On 17 August it appointed Roberto Crispino as voluntary administrator. Mr Crispino is liquidator of the five companies published on 14 August. A first meeting of creditors is set for 27 August at 10:30am, proofs and proxies due 5:00pm on 26 August.

No insolvency notice has been published against the other three.

The company behind Murphy House enters liquidation

Sharron Andrea Pty Ltd, ACN 628 766 307, resolved at a general meeting on 14 August to wind up, appointing Ozem Kassem liquidator. The notice records it as formerly trading as SASS Quality Support Services and SASS Care, and it carries the business names MurphyHouse, SASS Care and Ironstone Hill Disability Activity Farm.

In December, Victoria's Social Services Regulator announced it had commenced a prosecution concerning a supported residential service known as Murphy House, filing charges in the Magistrates' Court against the company and its director over the alleged handling of resident money. Those are allegations before a court and have not been determined.
