Sky Energy sells SkyBox, a solar-and-battery system assembled in Keysborough. Its website claims 3,000-plus installations, a team of more than 30 and a founding year of 2019.
On 1 September, Sky Energy Investments Pty Ltd, ACN 665 408 613, and Sky Energy Production Pty Ltd, ACN 667 920 701, each appointed Mathew Blum and Luke Andrews of BDO as administrators. One notice names both companies. ASIC published it on 3 September. The first meeting of creditors is at 10am on 11 September.

Is Sky Energy in administration? Two of the companies behind the brand are. Investments holds the business name SKY ENERGY. Production holds Sky Energy Installations and is named as Australian importer on the brand's current battery warranty. Administration is not liquidation: the administrators now control both companies and creditors meet on 11 September. The notice says nothing about installations, warranties, deposits or staff.
Five companies that carry or have carried Sky Energy in their registered name
Sky Energy Group Pty Ltd, ACN 634 487 620, is the company on most of the brand's 2023 documents. The site's privacy page still names it, at 4/4 Bridge Road, Keysborough, as the party to data-sharing terms with the crowdfunding platform Equitise "to facilitate the equity crowdfunding process", effective 15 September 2023.
On 7 March 2024, Metal Manufactures Pty Ltd applied to the Supreme Court of Victoria to wind Sky Energy Group up. On 10 April 2024 the court ordered it wound up and appointed Con Kokkinos liquidator. Its ABN was cancelled from 23 April 2025. The Australian Business Register dates the Sky-branded names that sat on that ABN: SKY ENERGY GROUP from July 2019 to 1 August 2024; Sky Energy Solar to 10 April 2025; Sky Energy Direct and Sky Energy Systems to 23 April 2025, when the ABN was cancelled. Five other names registered in March 2021 remain against it, among them Solar and Battery Wholesale and Melbourne Smash Burgers.
Sky Energy Pty Ltd, ACN 662 608 559, was registered on 21 September 2022. The 2023 warranty names it as the company providing the coverage and as the contact for assistance. It became FCAS Solutions Pty Ltd on 30 October 2024 and Enerbyte Pty Ltd on 10 December 2025. Its ABN is active. No insolvency notice has been published against it.
Sky Energy Investments Pty Ltd was registered on 1 February 2023. The business name SKY ENERGY was registered to it on 27 February 2025, ten months after the Group's winding-up order and eight weeks before the Group's ABN was cancelled. The register records dates, not a transfer.
Sky Energy Production Pty Ltd was registered on 12 May 2023 and has held the business name Sky Energy Installations since 7 December 2023. The BSLBATT battery warranty published on the Sky Energy site in August 2025 gives "Australian Importer Information: Company Name: SKY ENERGY PRODUCTION PTY LTD", in Keysborough, on the same skyenergy.com.au website.
Sky Energy Holdings Pty Ltd, ACN 665 417 041, was registered on 1 February 2023, the same day as Investments. It has no ABN and no insolvency notice has been published against it.
Across the records, the five companies are linked by combinations of the Sky Energy name, Keysborough addresses, the 1300 number and the skyenergy.com.au website. The records do not establish ownership, control or contractual succession between them.
The 2023 warranty names two companies
The SkyBox warranty dated June 2023, still hosted on the brand's website, is headed as effective for Sky Energy Group Pty Ltd products installed from June 2021. Its first sentence says the coverage is "provided by Sky Energy Pty Ltd". The clauses that follow refer to Sky Energy Group Pty Ltd 27 times by name, including in the claims, repair and liability provisions. The closing "Assistance and Contact Information" block names Sky Energy Pty Ltd again, at 4/4 Bridge Road, Keysborough, with the 1300 number. One document, two legal entities, and the document does not say which owes what. One of them was wound up in April 2024. The other is now Enerbyte Pty Ltd.
The August 2025 battery warranty is cleaner: it names Sky Energy Production Pty Ltd as Australian importer. Which companies are named depends on when the paperwork was issued. What administration, liquidation or a change of name means for a warranty claim is not stated in any notice.
The SkyBox installations on the public record
Victoria's Big Build reported on 8 September 2023 that the Mickleham Road Upgrade had installed a "SkyEnergy Storage System" at its Stage 1 headquarters near Greenvale: two Skybox batteries, 60 kilowatt-hours of storage, 30 kilowatts of solar, with construction partner BMD, "SkyEnergy's biggest battery assembly at the headquarters of an Australian infrastructure project". The page does not name the supplying company.
Senator Tyron Whitten, One Nation, Western Australia, listed Sky Energy Investments Pty Ltd among his shareholdings in public and private companies in his statement of registrable interests dated 19 August 2025. The register as published by the Parliament, last modified on 4 June 2026, still lists it; two other companies were deleted from his shareholdings that day. The form gives the company name, not the size or value of the holding. RenewEconomy reported in March 2026 that the senator described the interest as "0.00913% of a small solar company, which I disclosed".
What remains unresolved
The notice gives no reason for the appointments. Whether the two companies share owners with each other, with Sky Energy Holdings, with Enerbyte or with the wound-up Sky Energy Group is not established on any public register. Which company contracted for the Mickleham Road system is not stated. The brand's own terms name Sky Energy Group and Equitise for the 2023 crowdfunding; the issuer of any shares and the amount raised are not in any offer document found. What the administrations mean for customers holding either warranty, or for the team the website describes, is not stated in the notice.

WMG Holdings Co was due to meet creditors on 3 September. The Federal Court wound it up on 2 September.
WMG Holdings Co Pty Ltd, ACN 631 286 238, was ordered to be wound up by the Federal Court on 2 September, 27 days into a voluntary administration and the day before its second creditors' meeting. Glenn Spooner of SSB Advisory was appointed liquidator. The ABC reported in August 2025 that the court had ordered the company wound up alongside WMG Football Club Ltd, Western United's owner and operator; those orders were stayed and the proceedings dismissed in January after a tax settlement. The football company was wound up on 11 August. A 2025 Federal Court judgment records affidavit evidence describing WMG Holdings Co as the holder of the A-League licence. Optimum Experiences: the wedding venue's company was the conference centre's company
Optimum Experiences Pty Ltd, ACN 168 308 129, resolved to wind up on 28 August, with Ryan Bradbury of Nicols + Brien appointed liquidator. The company runs school camps from South Nowra and was registered in 2014 as Fitzroy Falls Conference & Adventure Centre Pty Ltd. Its business names are Optimum Events, Optimum Experiences Outdoor Adventures, Workshops In The Wilde and Weddings In The Wilde, the Southern Highlands wedding venue. The wedding venue's own domain was not serving its site on 4 September. The notice says nothing about bookings.
